I bought a 6C phone jack splitter/extender cable so I could bring the hand control connection outside for future expansion plans of using my Wi-Fi adapter and GPS. I initially put a 12V regulator on the power cord I made, just to ensure that there wouldn't be a problem if the battery was in one of the higher voltage output modes. However, the mount drew more current than the regulator was rated for, so I just went back to a straight through cable.
